United Airlines launches regular flights using biofuels
Chicago-based carrier United Airlines on Friday launched regularly scheduled flights using commercial-scale volumes of sustainable aviation biofuel, thus becoming the first US airline to do so.
With the departure of United Flight 708 from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday, the company has commenced a two-week service between Los Angeles and San Francisco running solely on biofuel. It is also integrating this renewable jet fuel into its regular operations at LAX.
